Been involved in RC since around 2011 at just 11 years old. I started with small foam airplanes before finding myself infatuated with helicopters, and by 2013 I was flying helicopters pretty much exclusively. Recently (beginning of 2023) I found myself getting very burned out on helis and started getting back into airplanes, mostly jets. Now I fly everything, more or less.
The UA-cam channel started out with just me posting single flights, but taking inspiration from UA-cam channels like xjet, I began experimenting with more vlog-style videos in which I talk, post flights of myself and others, and just kinda hang out laid back style. I got good feedback on this new style (I originally called it "At The Field", so I kept on doing it.
These days I work as a Product Manager for FrSky North America and fly everything. I post videos so that people may enjoy some flight videos when they're unable to fly themselves. Please enjoy your stay, subscribe and stay a while.

OMPHOBBY M2 EVO | Rotorflight w/ Customized Geometry
Been flying the M2 EVO on Rotorflight for a little while now, but couldn't quite get the cyclic rates I wanted (I like it fast), which prevented me from getting it fully dialed in to my liking. I discovered a pretty simple solution to give me a bit more cyclic pitch travel and thus a bit more cyclic rates.
I removed the ball and nut from some spare M2 EVO servo horns, and installed them onto the swashplate for the main rotor linkages, with the nut being used as a spacer. This pushed out the linkages on the inner swashplate ring, changing the geometry in favor of more travel by about 18%.
It made all the difference in the world, and this thing is flying AWESOME now. :)

Hey, quick question :) i know that Align helis got low tail ratio as you mentioned before, but is it really so bad or it is just me? I flied on medium RPM and tail makes turns very well, feels locked and robotic. But when i descend the heli and then give suddenly full up pitch, tail quite much drifts away. Increasing the tail gain doesn't solve that. Did i setup something wrong or this is quite normal behaviour for full up pitch? It is around 13 degrees.
It's just because the ratio is so low. It'll feel locked right up until you load it up more than usual and overload the limited thrust it's capable of producing.
@@BladeScraper That's interesting why Align decided to leave it like that, considering that experienced pilots fly for them and test their models. Or is it just designed for particular flying style where pilots don't push full pitch suddenly?
@@cutefox8319 It's designed for a whole lot of headspeed, which the Asian market tends to fly at. Just look at Kenny Ko when he was flying ALIGN.
@@BladeScraper I didn't know about that Asian trend as a factor, that seems quite explaining! As i remember you no longer sell tail speedup kits for 500X, so i wonder where i could get a suitable 5mm belt, because when i was searching on AliExpress, was finding only 6mm. I still will try to use longer tail blades first, though.
@@cutefox8319 you'll have to reach out to belt manufacturers, it's a really weird size you're unlikely to find listed anywhere. I used Taiwan Belt for my 470 kits. On the 500X there's no need for a belt, just a pulley. Cut the boom shorter by 10-11mm. 473+80mm still fits.
Hard on the bank balance, crashing 😬 Cheers for sharing
Excellent video. I just bought one of these. Really beefy looking kit.
@@smaze1782 nice! Hope you like it!
Poor phones...
Nice flying Dogg. Is this heli bigger than my S2 Goosky. I have to put all the pink on mine to make it easier to see. I'm thinking of getting an M1 or an M2 as well
@@alwaysflying6540 yeah the M2 EVO is basically the same size as the S2
Wow man that’s awesome! How would you describe the flight performance compared to the original FLB? Do you think it could be achieved with a Nexus? Would you post some pictures about the process of modification and what goes where? I want to convert my M4 to Nexus from Brain2 but also have a M2EVO that deserves a nexus if it is possible. What ESC did you use?
FC and ESC info is in the description. It's a quadcopter FC stack with a custom breakout board (I'm working on making it available to buy). The Nexus would likely be a no-go but might be possible. Realistically at this size heli, doing a build using a quadcopter stack is the best option currently.
@@BladeScraper perhaps mateksys heli? they are pretty small. I build a couple of them already and they work really well. dirt cheap too
What dod you do to the geometry?
See description for info
big beautiful runway and everyone chooses to land in the rough!?!?
holy CRAP!!! LOL That's ridiculously fun. :)
Now they just need to make it easier to setup.
Can you do the full setup on this or do you need to start on the computer first
@@HuevosAzules you need to do some on the computer, not all settings are available in Integration.
@@BladeScraper at least the majority of tuning looks available. Thanks
@@HuevosAzules yes anything you're likely to change at the field is available. They are working on a MSP refactor that will add things that can be changed but currently they're limited by the Betaflight code it currently uses.
@@BladeScraper I'm already amazed with where it's at. I'm excited to eventually try it out. Still nervous for the first time setup, but I'll figure it out eventually
@@HuevosAzulesit’s not the easiest to setup I have tried it even with the videos out there it’s still very confusing
Awesome flight, you still got it
@@Backyard_Buzzard thank you!
I stretched mine to the 610 blades and 20 tooth pinion and I like it better like that..... flys more like a 600 but still light and powerrrrrr
@@dbirds21 personally just feel like 600s just don't have the power to weight of 700. I've found 550-580 the sweet spot for a 55, at least for my flying style :)
Ive had alot of issues with that rpm sensor. its very prone for going out of wack. I think I got it locked in after 30 flights. It doesnt like vibration at all.
other than the wire issue (which is reportedly fixed according to my friend who bought one recently) and it falling out (my fault) they've worked well for me. Never had any problems with it other than those. But then again my other friend had serious issues with his so who knows lol.
Nice tight flying!
Bro, Thats awesome.
Heck yea bro
Awesome flying man!!! 👍👍 Love that blade sound!!
@@kingfamilyrc5376 thank you!
Nice flying I have questions,as person who flown with nexus and flydragon, which is better and your favorite?
@@shahram677 the firmware is the important part. They both run Rotorflight firmware, so they will fly very similar and in most cases the same. The difference is just the hardware... The Flydragon has more ports which comes in handy as the lack of ports on the Nexus is an inconvenience sometimes depending on the build. IMO Nexus is great for small helis, but the Flydragon is more versatile and more useful for big helis and nitro.
@@BladeScraper thank you for great advice I have two nexus and I’m building another 700 heli so i may pick flydragon Just wanted make sure and ask u before place order I heard gyro hardware are different, both of them great but different hardware I wish I had elrs but I don’t ,then flydragon would be better option with no doubt
@@shahram677 The gyro is different yes, but from what I gather it doesn't really make much a difference as both gyros are good. Anyway - both units will serve you well regardless which you choose. I personally put a Flydragon on my M4 Max (Nexus was not available at the time) and Nexus on my M7... if I was just getting into Rotorflight today I'd do the opposite and put the Nexus on the M4 Max and Flydragon on the M7.
@@BladeScrapersounds great buddy
Can you send that link for the lua again please? I'm so happy integrated tuning is built into it now. One of the reasons I wanted Mikado originally

I thought it was real, but it’s only a toy. 😮
On a maiden you NEVER run out of fuel. You are very carefool.
Yup he flew too long for sure :(
Yeah I had one of those 6 minutes and out of fuel
Stop showing videos if you can't show the video
Huh?
That sucks man. I have to agree with the other guy. My F16 glides forever. My Cg is slightly tail heavy tho. I'm sure this helps because I wouldn't have to be so heavy on the elevator I do have to say for the situation you were in, you did really good with that hard flare right at the end before touch down. Also those tree's were right in front of you. It was a perfect spot to settle in:)
He had enough airspeed to bring it into the cut grass but it looked like he pulled hard on elevator which took all of his airspeed
I just picked up a NME and was wondering what would be the best connectors to use to set this up.
There's only two options as far as I am aware, AS150 or RCPP S7, I used the AS150
Awesome flying 🤙
Seems like it gets decent hang time in autos but the blades stop so quickly after landing... What's the cause of the drag?
I think I had some bad bearings in the tail idlers when I first built it, or maybe just overtightened them. Replaced those idlers recently and it's significantly less draggy like my regular M4.
@@BladeScraper I noticed that on all M4s the rotors stop pretty quick after the power is cut... Must be drag in the one way or something. Does it auto pretty good after new bearings?
@@HugeVictor It's no worse than any other 380/420 I've ever had... perhaps a bit better than my Protos 380s were. The one way is smooth and low drag... most of the drag that's there comes from it being a belt drive. If you want a 380 size autoing champion, find one with a torque tube :)
@@BladeScraper Nice, thanks for the input, although I maintain that the Trex 470l I have seems to have a lot less drag and it's belt drive also. No idea where the difference is, I'll find out when I get an m4 max
I have the Nexus setup on my Goblin 420 Raw. Do you have any PIDS that I can try since the OMP M4 is somewhat close in size with the 420 Raw. Thank you so much.
Hey, do you remember if you had a governor here or it was without governor since you mention 100% throttle?
LHS like this you just run 100% throttle, running low enough for the governor to have headroom would be basically unflyable
@@BladeScraper this is interesting though, i couldn't hear RPMs drop during flip in this video, it makes it sound like it works as good as if it would have governor, i wonder how ESC is able to cover RPM loss at having maximum throttle already.. i realize that it just can add more amps but still interesting because with lower linear curve it will be losing RPMs, while at 100% it don't.
@@cutefox8319 collective management helps. I've oversped a gasser doing piroflips because my CM was good enough it hardly loaded the engine...
@@BladeScraper ohh, but could you please explain more about the collective management? I hear it here and there, but what exactly it means? Is it like giving only a little bit of pitch which is minimally needed instead of overdoing or what? What exactly i have to learn to make my collective management better?
@@cutefox8319 it's just about using exactly as much collective as needed to do a maneuver, ergo using as little power as possible, and doing so at the right timing. It just takes practice. Flying low headspeed helps you learn quick... Poor collective management results in stalling out and crashing. You learn quick :)
Wow Bro, Play the lotto, your a lucky guy.
Right?? 😅
Very interesting as my Nimbus Nitro did the EXACT same thing with my blade grip coming off!!!! I used blue loctite in the building and will red from now on! 😳
Wow interesting. Seems like they fill the entire spindle with a gallon of oil before shipping lol. I used red and it still came out. Weird.
Wow crazy stuff! I wonder how you can even ensure that the thread locker worked. You just have to believe that or you can try to unscrew it slightly to see if it's firm?
For the servo wire on the frame, just Dremel a relief in the carbon so its not against the servo wiring.
WOW that was very lucky. That would have totaled your heli. I lost a blade on my Xcell 60 and it ripped the mast out of the frame. It was a total loss.
That’s what you call a free helicopter! Whew!
Did you get rid of your electric after it was overheating?
No I got it mostly fixed with the smaller pinion. Did sell it a while later though
@@BladeScraper oh that's good to hear. Thanks
I bought a raptor 30 for super cheap. I love it. I love nitro. But it's just too damn expensive. I wish I could still get cool power 30 for 30 bucks unfortunately it's 50 bucks a gallon now
The slimers are making a comeback! Damn you got lucky!
i removed some material for the servo lead. the only dislike
Nice! Just got mine going too 😀I noticed the same thing with the tail servo. I think it's pretty cool that it's tucked away in there rather than sticking out like the electric Nimbus, but my KST BLS805X wire just barely makes it out of the frame. In fact it's pushing on the grommet a little bit. Should have had some big chamfers or notches for the wire right there maybe.
Yep a bit more thought could have gone into the mounting but I agree it looks nicer the way it is than on the E. Not the end of the world but worth noting :) Thanks for watching
same servo here. I had to shave a 2mm of carbon from the frame servo cutout area tto install that servo....
@@dbirds21 I got it in but was a bit of a pain for sure. They could have been done better
Heck Yea Bro!
You messed up, once the turbine bug bites you it will never go away.
Oh yeah 😅
